Fluid displacement
K-Zero shows a low risk of occlusion due to minimal reflux(1).

In terms of fluid displacement, K-Zero shows minimal displacement volumes during connection (3.9 microLitres) and disconnection (-1.1 microLitres).

K-Zero is among the best performing products tested in terms of fluid displacement as shown in the table above.

A visualisation of the potential reflux upon disconnection into a patients cannula as well as the potential bolus to the patient upon connection of a syringe or set to various needlefree connectors is shown below.


These results show that K-Zero minimises reflux into the catheter upon connection and disconnection and therefore leads to a lower risk of potential occlusion or unintended bolus.
